Father Christmas will be making special appearances in various winter wonderlands throughout Cornwall during December. Meet Santa and his elves, embark on festive train rides, treasure hunts and adventures through snowy forests! Experience the magic of Christmas at one of Cornwall’s festive grottos. 

Father Christmas & his elves at the Eden Project – 24 Nov – 30 Dec

Where to see Father Christmas, Eden Project

Step inside a cosy tent to see behind the scenes of Christmas. Meet Father Christmas and his elves, discover pigeonholes full of children’s letters and stockings laid out, ready to be filled with gifts. Children can sit down by the fire and listen to a magical story, before meeting Father Christmas himself. Booking in advance is strongly advised.

Flambards Christmas Craft Fayre, Helston – 1st-2nd Dec

Set in the cobbled streets of an old Victorian village, the Flambards Christmas Fayre will showcase 80 local crafters and businesses, plus Santa and his elves will be there all weekend. Santa will be doing meet and greets at various times during the weekend and the rest of the time he can be found wandering through the park and posing for photos with children. There will also be live festive music from Helston Town Band.

Christmas Grotto at Bedruthan, Mawgan Porth  - 1st-23rd Dec

Father Christmas at Bedruthan, Cornwall

Mr and Mrs Clause will both be at the magical grotto at Bedruthan this year. The festive adventure begins in the snow-covered trees of the lost forest where elves will help children create their own festive decorations with recycled materials. Children must follow the labyrinth of caverns and ice formations and find an elf who will provide directions to the Sugar & Spice Grotto. Once they reach the grotto, they can help Father Christmas and Mrs Christmas search for the presents that have fallen out of their sleigh.

Santa by Steam at Bodmin & Wenford Railway – 1st - 24th Dec

Embark on a rail journey with a difference at Bodmin & Wenford railway’s Santa by Steam events throughout December. Arrive early at Bodmin General Station to enjoy mince pies, drinks and Christmas carols on the platform before an hour long steam train expedition with a special guest on board. Father Christmas will be wandering through the carriages with presents as well as posing for photographs with children. Santa will also be travelling on two relaxed (autism-friendly) trains plus four wheelchair accessible trains.

Santa arrives by lifeboat in St Ives – 7th Dec

Santa arrives by lifeboat in St Ives

Festive celebrations in St Ives begin at 6pm with a dazzling lantern parade. Instead of arriving on his sleigh, Santa will arrive by lifeboat with the RNLI. After waving to the crowds of children and families gathered around the harbour, Santa will be greeted by the Mayor and a choir will sing Christmas carols.

Santa’s arrival in Looe – 8th Dec

The festive celebrations in Looe will be taking place at Buller Quay car park in East Looe where Santa will travel by boat towards the memorial steps. A festive procession will then be led by Santa towards his grotto where there will be a whole host of entertainment including a bouncy castle, face painting, animals, food stalls and a bar.

Santa’s Grotto & Elf Emporium near Bude  - 8th – 23rd Dec

Santa Grotto and Elf Emporium

Enjoy a fun-filled festive day at Milky Way Adventure Park near Bude during selected dates in December. Children can meet Santa and his elves in the magical grotto and have a festive adventure in the Elf Emporium which is new for 2018. At the Elf Emporium, Buzzlewick the elf and his friends will be helping Santa sort out the letters to be sent to the North Pole. Children can also help the elves decorate delicious gingerbread and make reindeer food in preparation for Christmas Eve.

Santa Specials at Lappa Valley, near Newquay – 8th - 24th Dec

Santa Specials at Lappa Valley

On selected dates in December, families can board a special train bound for Santa’s magical grotto, where children will receive an early Christmas present from the man in red. During the train journey, there will be tasty mince pies (plus gluten free alternatives), mulled wine and other hot drinks available. Passengers will also be entertained by Harry Kazzam and his astonishing balloon making skills, plus there will be Christmas card colouring, Christmas letter writing and other fun activities.

The Ship Inn in Pentewan will be hosting two special Sunday Christmas Treasure Hunts in December. Find festive clues to reveal the location of Santa’s grotto where children can meet Father Christmas himself and tell him what they would like for Christmas.

Santa’s Grotto at Paradise Park, Hayle  - 15th – 24th Dec

Santa at Paradise Park

Father Christmas can be found at Paradise Park in Hayle from the 15th, right up until Christmas Eve. Santa and his elves will spend several minutes with each family and there’s a gift shop to look in whilst you’re waiting, plus the Park & JungleBarn to explore and play in. Why not combine your visit with a festive lunch at the Otter Pool Café where you can enjoy hot Panini rolls with turkey and cranberry sauce and other delicious snacks.
