The du Maurier Festival has improved year on year, with the launch of a new website, an enthusiastic festival team and a growing list of artists and speakers making the line-up. This year the du Maurier Society has found partners in Visit Cornwall and The Hall for Cornwall and is rebranding the festival to reach a wider audience, now called the ‘Fowey Festival of Music and Words’.
In November, the Society will be holding a mini-fundraiser called ‘The Cornish Compendium’ to raise money for an even bigger and better Festival held in May.
Sponsored by local businesses, the festival will be host to a mixture of talks, walks, music and film. True to its name, each event will have a Cornish theme, with the day ending in a concert in Fowey’s Parish Church. A regular festival favourite, Judy Finnigan, will be attending the fundraiser to talk about her first novel and there will be appearances by Time Team food historian Jacqui Wood and Cornish entertainer, Johnny Cowling. Ticketed events start from as little as £5.
When: Tuesday 27th – Thursday 29th November
