We were extremely comfortable at Mor Cottage. The owners clearly have put much love into the place to create a lovely small holiday cottage. They have gone over and above to put into place everything you would need for your holiday. The parking is what it is, but we were aware of that before booking, it is only a short walk to the North and South car parks, but we were able to park directly outside the property on arrival and departure, which made packing up and unpacking really easy. There are some great walks directly from the cottage and all restaurants, cafes, shops and bars are a stones throw, really convenient. We enjoyed our two weeks there very much and sampled a lot of the local cafes, restaurants and pubs. The fish from Newlyn Harbour was wonderful! Seamless booking and interaction with Aspects, an excellent holiday company.

Mousehole is wonderful and the cottage is perfect. It is a minutes walk to the harbour where three are a handful of shops, eateries and ice creams. It’s pretty and I would definitely visit again.

The cottage is all that is says. Nice and clean and fresh. We enjoyed staying as a family of 4 with 2 children. (13 & 7). It had everything you could need.

Top tip

Visit at Christmas and experience the magical Mousehole Lights display!

Things to do in Mousehole

Mousehole is best when entered on foot, or bus, or bike. Cars are not the way to see Mousehole and best left outside. If you have to bring a car, there’s a big car park on the Penzance side of the village, close to The Old Coastguard Hotel.

Christmas lights

Mousehole has celebrated Christmas with beautiful lights for 40 years! The village is a winter wonderland in the dark nights and grey seas of winter. Many villages have light shows today but Mousehole is special. Holiday cottages overlooking the harbour always enjoy an extra special Cornish Christmas. Read more on our blog about Mousehole lights.

Walks around Mousehole

For those who are not so content with staying in their holiday homes, the walks around Mousehole are a joy all year round.  There are some fabulous circular walks but we think there's something particularly satisfying about catching a bus from Mousehole and walking back in (especially if your walk exits the village in a north of westerly direction; you'll soon discover the town is nestled at the bottom of a very steep hill!)  Read our blog on Mousehole Walks.

Coasteering in Mousehole

If you're seeking adrenaline and adventure, check out Coasteering Adventures.

Mousehole is one of Cornwall’s top Coasteering destinations. Nestled in the shelter of Mounts Bay, Mousehole offers multiple coasteering routes for all ages and abilities. Coasteering Adventures are thrilled to be the exclusive provider of coasteering from this location. Book an adventure and you will experience cliff jumping, sea swimming, climbing, bouldering, exploring caves and floating through gullies. With each session tailored to the group, you can choose the level that you are comfortable with.

Dating back to the 13th century Mousehole has a rich history tying it to the sea. 1595 saw all but 1 house (which still stands today) burned to the ground by the Spanish armada. 100 Years later Mousehole became a haven for the ‘Barbary Pirates’ with a number of caves on the route being where their treasure was hidden. During the 1800’s Mousehole settled into a thriving fishing village and you’ll regularly see the small fishing boats from Mousehole pass our groups whilst out on route.

A brief history of Mousehole

Today Mousehole is beautiful and welcoming holiday destination This popular holiday destination has seen more than its fair share of hardtimes tragedy over the years.

The Quay was built in 1392, holding the harbour like a pair of protective arms. Fishing was always important to Mousehole. These days there are fewer boats fishing from the village but there is an active fishing fleet operating out of nearby Newlyn, a town worth a visit on its own account. Tom Bawcock's Eve, Mousehole

Every year, the people of Mousehole celebrate the bravery of Tom Bawcock. Years ago, when the boats couldn't get out in the storms, the villages had no fish to eat. Tom dared to take his boat out and returned with enough fish to make a Star Gazey fish pie for the whole village.

From the location, to the tasteful decor, beautiful furnishings, well equipped modern kitchen and comfy beds.....what's not to like. The owners should be very proud of what they have created. The best holiday home we have ever stayed in and a great base for exploring the south west coast of Cornwall.

We enjoyed five weeks in lovely Mor Cottage. It is well equipped, although it would be very cosy for four people, for two of us it was perfect. It is located in heart of village which has excellent cafes pub and restaurants. No parking but we stayed in May and had no difficulty parking in carpark (but we had to remember to pay each day) and sometimes on street. Friendly village and we were sad to say goodbye.

We had a wonderful stay at Mor Cottage The cottage had everything you needed Very comfortable and very clean Mrs K Keen 21/10/2022

Another absolutely delightful cottage - we’ve come to the point where we just don’t look anywhere else for our yearly jaunt to Cornwall. Aspects have been amazing from start to finish and made our 5th booking as special as ever.

Mor cottage is a wonderful place to stay. It's very nicely situated and well equipped with everything needed for a holiday in Mousehole. The love put into the property by the owners during its refurbishment is evident, the design, the choice of materials, the quality of the work are all superb. We loved staying there and look forward to doing so again in the future.

We have just returned from a fantastic stay at Mor Cottage- I cannot recommend it enough- the cottage is absolutely lovely! It is in a great location within the lovely coastal village of Mousehole. It is a 2 minute walk down to the harbour where we enjoyed time on the beach and also swimming and using our paddleboard. The cottage itself is very well presented and the items left in the property have been very well thought out to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The welcome items were also very well received after our long drive down to Cornwall and meant we had bread, milk and butter, tea, coffee etc. on arrival. There is not immediate parking outside the property but parking can be found a short walk away. We could not have asked for anything better and we are already looking at when we can book again!

Lovely the owners pride and joy
