December 2023

Beautiful house in an excellent location. More than what we expected. The photos didn’t do it justice as the views from the living room were outstanding. We easily visited Lost Gardens (excellent farm shop there too) and Eden Project. Plenty of walks to do from the house and Portmellon beach is an easy walk down. Would recommend getting the boat to Fowey, we saw dolphins both directions, but get in the queue early. There is plenty of garden for the dog at Sea Spirit. We all had an excellent time. Highly recommended.

Holidays in Mevagissey

Stay in Mevagissey and you’ll be perfectly placed to explore all that the south coast of Cornwall has to offer. Take a ferry trip to Fowey, visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan or spend a day at the beach at the nearby Pentewan Sands.

Best known for its harbour and fishing boats, Mevagissey still boasts as being part of Cornwall’s thriving fishing industry. Fresh fish can even be bought from the hut on the harbour wall, located a short stroll from the village aquarium, once the lifeboat station. Wander around the harbour area, with its narrow streets, fascinating shops and galleries and recall its smuggling history, or just relax in the bars and restaurants and coves and on nearby beaches.

There is a ferry boat which runs from end of April to beginning of October from Mevagissey to Fowey three or four times a day (don’t miss the return journey!) – journey time about 35 minutes. You may be lucky and spot some playful dolphins!

Property was very good value for money. Location not suitable for the elderly due to a very steep hill from Mevagissey.

With this property being elevated above the town, really making the most of those amazing views, there is a hill to walk up if you are going into the town by foot. We hope that the images of the elevated position of this property gave a good idea of this when booking, so that this was what you had expected. For those who feel they may struggle, the local team are always happy to help advise on where there is parking in the town, if there are alternative and slightly easier routes, or advise on public transport that may offer some solutions. We are glad that you enjoyed it and hopefully we will see you back again soon. Tanya, Customer Services

Great place to stay.

The property is clean, well cared for. It is situated in a quiet residential area of Mevagissy. The town is a short drive or reasonable walk from the premises. Off-road parking and a secure back garden if you are taking a pet. The interior is carpeted throughout. The amenities are new and of really good quality. Overall I would say that care has been given to ensure you will have a good holiday. Big question….would we go back again? Like a shot!

On arrival looked very nice, on entering was overwhelmed by the damp smell, entered master bedroom, very nice including very nice on suite with almost clear window glass. Bedroom two small no wardrobe, broken drawer unit unusable due to damp smell, bedroom three no wardrobe or drawer unit, no towel rails, no loo roll holders, the property was for six but only had four chairs at indoor and outdoor tables. A washing machine was great but no washing line or pegs.Welcome package poor, Council called to collect rubbish told me if we were out he had access to come in and collect.by way of spare front door key in outside box. Kitchen, nice no tea towel only a dirty oven towel. Garden nice but not very accessible to the two chairs or two loungers.Call to aspect resolved some of the problems .

Whilst damp smells can be a risk from time to time in properties around here, due to the location, types of building materials and the climate here in Cornwall; the owners investigated and found the smell coming from the chest of drawers. This has now been replaced and additional furniture added to improve storage. They have also since replaced the film on the window of the ensuite to improve privacy. The additional dining chairs are there but generally some are left in bedrooms so that guests have the flexibility of using them there or in the dining area. We are sorry if this was a bit of an inconvenience and if the split-level garden with some steps to access the seating, was not what you had expected. We try to show this as clearly as possible on the website photos, as we appreciate that this may not suit everyone. We would also like to apologise that the housekeeper had forgotten the tea towels and reassure you that the waste collection was not a council service, but a private waste collection company who we work very closely with. There are only a few people who have knowledge of the key safe code, which owners generally change from time to time, for additional security. We are sorry again that you had been so disappointed with this property. If you are ever returning to Cornwall, please do not hesitate to have a chat to the team before booking so that we can help in finding somewhere that will have all the facilities that you would want. Seaspirit is in a great location, quiet street, great fixtures and fittings, comfortable and flexible furniture for dining and relaxing. Amazing views across the bay at the front and across a stunning garden with fields at the back. Mevagissey is a wonderful seaside town with great options for shopping, food and drink. We enjoyed beaches nearby at Gorran Haven and Pentewan and we took a day trip to Newquay and Padstow in the North Coast, easily doable in a day. Special mention for Charlestown where we enjoyed watching kids diving into the harbour, small bars and pop up food vans as well as some really good restaurants. The Longstore/Wine Store was fantastic.
