A lovely location to explore South Cornwall. Cosy and well decorated property, which enabled us to rest, but also eat in or out as required. The Sharksfinn, The Ship Inn, The Fountain Inn and the Cellar Bar all visited. The Sharksfinn being our favourite. Walking the coastal path was no problem to Goran and back on the first day. Log fire available in cottage if required, but the property was always warm. We enjoyed it so much, we booked again!!

October 2023

Harbour rest is in a beautiful location with the most amazing views of the Harbour. The property has everything you need and very comfortable, dog friendly and decorated to a very high standard. We would recommend this beautiful accommodation and location any time of the year. Just watching the fishing boats going out and coming in is amazing. Plenty of places to eat and you cannot pick one against the other. Everyone is so welcoming and certainly very dog friendly. We love megavissy and will return

Holidays in Mevagissey

Stay in Mevagissey and you’ll be perfectly placed to explore all that the south coast of Cornwall has to offer. Take a ferry trip to Fowey, visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan or spend a day at the beach at the nearby Pentewan Sands.

Best known for its harbour and fishing boats, Mevagissey still boasts as being part of Cornwall’s thriving fishing industry. Fresh fish can even be bought from the hut on the harbour wall, located a short stroll from the village aquarium, once the lifeboat station. Wander around the harbour area, with its narrow streets, fascinating shops and galleries and recall its smuggling history, or just relax in the bars and restaurants and coves and on nearby beaches.

There is a ferry boat which runs from end of April to beginning of October from Mevagissey to Fowey three or four times a day (don’t miss the return journey!) – journey time about 35 minutes. You may be lucky and spot some playful dolphins!

After staying in many cottages in Meva this one is the best. Nice & bright, nicely decorated & modern. Lovely garden, maybe a couple of sun loungers to relax on.

We had another lovely stay at Harbour Rest - our second time. For us it is the fact that you can sit in the lounge and look out at all the sights and sounds of a lovely working harbour what does it....

Doug and Barbara.

We have stayed in several aspects properties in mevagissey and Harbour Rest is by far our favorite . The property is so very pretty and furnished in a delightful light and tasteful way . The kitchen is fabulous and very well equipped . The lounge is just lovely and makes you feel so at home but with superb views across the harbour . Bedrooms are lovely and comfortable with fabulous mattresses and lovely bedding . The garden is delightful and a lovely place to sit . Overall this charming cottage is spacious and very well set out over three floors . Plenty of little extras that really make it a lovely home from home . We will absolutely have this at the top of our list to stay at next visit .

Yet another lovely stay at Harbour Rest the property is spotless and has everything you could possibly need.We would definately recommend this cottage and hope to return again.

We loved this cottage! Just a 5minute walk from the carpark. It felt like a home from home and the views across the harbour were lovely. It has everything you could need, including a dishwasher and washing machine and a lovely area out the back to sit and soak up the sun shielded from the winds on windy days. You have a fantastic fish and chips just a short stroll down the path. This along with pasty shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants all within the harbour gave us everything we needed for our stay. Was lovely to have a few extras left for us in the cottage also, like teabags, milk, biscuits and a bottle of prosecco chilling in the fridge was a great surprise! We will definitely be booking this cottage again if another week is available in our price range.

This is the third holiday with Aspect holidays and I cannot praise everyone involved with the company enough.

The property was absolutely lovely with every thing you need entertain yourself contained within the property. The standard of décor and quality of furniture is superb and also very comfortable as well as impeccably clean. The position of the property is wonderful with views overlooking the harbour and out to sea.

I will most definitely be staying at Harbours Rest again.

Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Gorgeous home from home amazing harbour views cosy warm and clean would return in a heart beat and in fact hope to do so within the next few months

Harbour Rest is in an ideal location - looking over the harbour and centrally located. Mevagissey is a lovely village with many interesting shops. We highly recommend the delicatessen next to She Sells (sorry, we cant remember the name)

Another lovely visit to Harbour Rest cottage very clean and comfortable.Perfect position in harbour very quiet at night.Has outside rear garden but these needs attention a general tidy up would make it more inviting. This did not spoil our stay though and would hope to stay here again

Great location with breathtaking views and very well furnished property. Laid out over 4 floors - bedroom 1, kitchen, living room with dining area and finally bedroom 2 in the loft extension. Liked the serving hatch from the kitchen to the dining area. Quite a hike from the car park and permit cost should be included in the price. Kitchen much smaller than it appears on the photograph.

Lovely holiday cottage in beautiful Mevagissey! Thank you to the team at Aspects Holidays who made it easy to book, enjoyable to be away and undoubtedly desirable to return!

A very comfortable, well equipped property, perfectly sited overlooking the harbour for all that Mevagissey has to offer and indeed a huge range of both local and slightly further afield activities/attractions.

We spent a very enjoyable week staying in 'Harbour Rest' cottage - and we were very lucky to have sunshine for our whole week. The view from the lounge window, looking out over the harbour, and the green hillside opposite, was marvellous - and we spent a lot of time in the evenings just watching all the comings and goings of a small working harbour. The property had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. We also enjoyed sitting in the lovely little back garden for an hour or so, pre-dinner, each evening. The walk, back and forth, from the car park to the cottage on arrival day was quite strenuous for us, with all our stuff - but you are warned about this. (By the way, we can recommend Willow parking - they are a very friendly and helpful team). We can recommend all the various boat trips, especially the ferry trip and the 'Seas The Day' excursion - and the many lovely coastal walks. So, all in all, yes, the cottage is quite expensive, but we enjoyed our week very much, and we were made to feel welcome in Mevagissey, and that was nice. Doug and Barbara.

Fabulous property in an ideal location -overlooking the harbour and steps away from this pretty village and all its amenities. Would highly recommend

Beautiful cottage, great views of the Harbour, Carpets clean, bathrooms ,Laura Ashley curtains , love the place, central but quiet, cute, quaint small patio at rear for catching the sun, beds comfy and clean.

Harbour rest is a beautiful cottage right on the harbour. It was very cosy for our family of four. Would highly recommend.

Had a lovely time on holiday. The cottage location was excellent with fantastic views of the harbour. The outside space however could use a little TLC. We found Mevagissey busy but that was probably due to current circumstances, and so difficult to find a pub or restaurant with room without booking ahead.

A lovely clean and comfy cottage in a perfect location with everything we needed for a great holiday.Have booked again for later in the year

Harbour Rest is a comfortable property with lovely harbour views and just a short walk into the village with its shops and pubs/restaurants. A large lounge with real wood-burner is perfect for relaxing and the private outside space at the rear of the property great for soaking up the sun or having coffee. Property is found up a short, but steep slope (an easier gradient is found by walking past the Fountain Inn behind "She Sells".) also, the property is on several levels so not good for people with mobility difficulties. We found it clean, quiet and comfortable, just what we needed after such a long time away from Mevagissey due to Covid restrictions.

A lovely and comfortable cottage with amazing views and a great location for everything Mevagissey has to offer.

Bedding &towels lovley and soft and clean . View is amazing . Make sure you take dishwasher tabs and condiments as nothing basic there .

Had a really wonderful time at Harbour Rest in Mevagissey the accommodation was very good and Mevagissey itself is even better an absolutely beautiful place to visit

This is a beautiful cottage in a stunning, and convenient location, with excellent views and really spotlessly clean. If you want to eat out you will need to book well in advance ( I did 3 weeks ahead and still couldn't get in my favourite place). If you are self catering you will need to bring your own supplies or stop in St Austell to shop as there is only a tiny store in the village. Do take a boat trip....we were lucky enough to see dolphins really close up.

Lovely little house, beautiful view and great location for popping down to the shops and cafes. Nicely decorated - neutral, coastal colours and a few original paintings, plus v. clean and comfortable. Was good for warm, sunny weather as well as cosy in wind and rain, and we had both during our holiday!

Strongly advise people to book local restaurants ahead of coming this year - visitor numbers are huge and capacity is reduced. Also, stop at a supermarket on the way and grab some nice food and drink to have in, there is no supermarket in Mevagissey. Lots of nice seafood/ fish n chips/ Cornish pasty options locally if that fails! The beaches and scenery were a tonic, the locals were friendly despite the slightly challenging circumstances brought on by the pandemic, and we had a lovely holiday.

Harbour Rest is located in the centre of Mevagissey Harbour. You won't find a more central location with amazing views. Just remember to bring your walking legs with you, as there is no parking near the property and you will need to use the Willows Car park on the edge of the town (5 minutes walk). The property is situation on the South West Coastal Path. There are some great walks exploring the Coastal path to the North and South of Mevagissey. There are a number of excellent Restaurants, Pubs and cafes all with in minutes walks for the property, many you can see from the front door of Harbour Rest!

Very nice property in a great location overlooking the harbour. Well presented and nicely decorated. Ideally placed for pubs, shops and restaurants all within a very short distance from the property. Lovely part of the country, well worth a visit and harbour rest was the ideal house to stay in.

Beautiful and extremely comfortable cottage with modern facilities. Lovely view of the harbour and very close to all of its amenities. Would not hesitate to book Harbour Rest again.

This beautiful property is a home from home. All a guests wishes have been catered for and the positioning of the property is stunning, overlooking the harbour. There is an ease to walking down the steps into Mevagissey, its attractions, shops and services. A week or more will pass quickly and very pleasantly. A property worth the visit.
