Porthleven Food Festival | April 2012
The pretty quaint town of Porthleven sits on the south west coast of Cornwall and is centred around its working fishing harbour. The town is home to some fantastic restaurants and bistros serving delicious, local produce and is a great starting point for exploring the south west coast path.
As well as being a fantastic place to stay and explore, Porthleven is also home to the Porthleven Food Festival. The festival is now in its fourth year and with celebrity backing from Patron Antony Worrall Thompson, the festival looks set for success. There will be music from local bands, drink and produce from Cornish suppliers and cookery demonstrations from local celebrity chefs such as Bruce Rennie from the Gurnard’s Head near Zennor and Stew Eddy from the Victoria Inn restaurant in Perranuthnoe.
A family friendly event, there will be lots of chance for the children to get involved in the day’s activities. There will be creative craft workshops, storytelling, interactive puppetry performances and a daring rodeo bull ride! Just a 30 minute drive from St Ives and only a few minutes from the nearby town of Helston, the festival is perfectly situated for a family day out.
