Fal River Autumn Walking Festival | October 2011

It’s often said that we don’t make enough effort to explore the landscape around us, and as is often the case, we get home from work, complete the daily duties and sink into the sofa for the evening.

That’s why, when were approached to get involved in the first year of the Fal River Autumn Walking Festival, we jumped at the opportunity. With over 100 inspiring walks for all ages and abilities, the festival aims to get people to explore the River Fal and enjoy the brilliant Autumnal colour in the area.

Fal River Festival

The festival runs from October 21st until November 6th and offers a range of both guided and self-guided walks. Try a ‘Wild Food Walk’ led by Rachel Lambert of Wild Walks South West or guide yourself around some beautiful sights such as the Roseland Peninsula and Pendennis Castle.

You can view all the walks online, as well as finding information about safety, a checklist of what to take with you, and money off vouchers at a range of organisations you may come across on your stroll.

Aspects will be sponsoring the ‘Fal River Hidden Villages‘  walk which takes places on October 24th, October 31st and November 3rd.  Starting at Trelissick Gardens, the circular walk will take in the hidden villages of the River Fal and the King Harry Ferry. If you’d like to book a place on the walk, you can contact Paul from walkitcornwall on 07714 084644, or email info@walkitcornwall.co.uk.
