Holidays in Truro

The capital of Cornwall, Truro is a bustling city lined with shops and restaurants. The city is also home to the Hall for Cornwall, a fantastic venue for music and theatre, as well as a cinema and the beautiful Truro Cathedral.  Although a busy city, holiday cottages in Truro are perfectly situated for getting to all of the major towns, villages and attractions in Cornwall.

Based right in the centre of Cornwall you are in a perfect location to explore both coasts of Cornwall, with Falmouth and Megavissey on the south coast and Newquay and Padstow on the north. If you venture down to the far west, you’re still only a 30-40 minute drive away to explore the cobbled streets of St Ives and the famous St Michael’s Mount.

Did you know...

The city of Truro began as an Iron Age settlement?

A hive of activity

The city is a hive of activity, with live music performances taking place regularly in Lemon Quay and the surrounding parks and gardens. Visit on a Wednesday or Saturday and enjoy the local farmer’s market in the centre of town, promoting a range of local Cornish goods. Truro’s City of Lights is a fantastic annual event and we recommend visiting in November when hundreds of paper lantern creations parade through streets lined with spectators.
