Coming alive from Easter onwards, self catering holidays in Porthcurno have plenty to occupy children and adults alike and is true retreat for those wishing to be away from the hords whether in or out of season. Porthcurno’s popular family beach offers safe paddling for the younger swimmers and wonderful deep waters for the more experienced, refreshments and toilet facilities are available as well as a huge car park (free between October to Easter). Take a short walk along the coastal path to Pednevounder beach; a real sun trap sheltered from the elements, it will truly amaze you with its natural beauty. With the tide low, you can walk the entire length to Logan’s Rock jutting out into the sea.

Outdoor Experiences

The Minack Theatre runs outdoor performances from May to September attracting many who wish an ‘al fresco’ theatrical experience with the most beautiful back drop of the sea and sunset. Visit the Telegraph Museum which will walk you through how Sir John Pender formed the Falmouth-Gibraltar-Malta Telegraph Company in 1876. Holiday cottages in Porthcurno are easily reached by road with a bus service running from Penzance, with its nearest village being St Buryan.
