It is also within level, easy strolling distance to the harbourside town with its shops, pubs and restaurants. Accommodation

Barn door to access the property which is great for providing airflow if you don’t want to leave the door open completely, just open the top half.

Kitchen: Everything needed provided, cosy, traditional cottage kitchen. Kitchen is the hub of the cottage and we loved the fact it has a big dinner table to gather around. Washing machine, dishwasher & fridge freezer included. Plenty of utensils & crockery. Even beach goods provided for use: bodyboards, buckets & spades, rock pooling nets, beach games.

Lounge: So cosy with trunk of games. Good ambience/lighting. Sofa comfy. Bookshelf with assortment of books. Window with side sea view & view of other traditional cottages.

Bathroom: Small but totally functional, powerful shower over bath, plenty of shelves for storage space. Bright white towels, lovely.

Twin bedroom: Spacious with window with side sea view. White, crisp linen on beds, lovely.

Double bedroom: Bright, very comfortable bed. Plenty of storage space. Dormer window with side sea view. White, crisp linen on bed, lovely.

Decor: In keeping with Cornwall & age of traditional cottage, wonderful.

General: We loved the biscuits, coffee, tea, milk provided - surprise.

I’ve noticed in different accommodation provided through Aspects, different things are included at the properties i.e. biscuits etc here, Prosecco at another accommodation - I like that, always a surprise. I also appreciated the £5 voucher to use @ The Fore St Deli.

Washing line for ?? beach items also right outside the door.

Rubbish/recycling: We loved the fact that a refuse & recycling service is provided as it makes check out much easier & not stressful at all.

Beaches/shops: 2 St Eia St is very close to Porthgwidden beach (at the end of the road) & only minutes from the other beaches & shops.

Car parking: The Island car park is the closest car park (2 mins walk) but The Station car park (8 mins walk) is the cheapest where you can buy a 7 day ticket for £27.

Check out: Very easy to check out, details clearly set out in file in kitchen + as St Eia Street not busy like other streets we have stayed in, easy to load the car up without disturbances.

If you have mobility problems, you may struggle with the stairs as there are 3 narrow flights to get to the double bedroom in the roof - that is the only -ve comment for others. For ourselves, we have no -ve comments.

Fantastic stay, wish we could have stayed for longer and will definitely book again.

Delightful accommodation, comfortable, clean, well equipped and full of character. Set on 4 floors, which wasn't a problem for us but may be for some. On a quiet, quaint old street very close to the beaches and the town.

This cottage is well placed for ease of access to beaches, restaurants, shops and car parks. The beds were comfortable and linen was fresh and clean. Overall, however, we felt the property was a bit jaded; in need of a little TLC and a fresh coat of paint. We didn't find a cosy house to sit around in. Comments in other reviews re the narrowness and precariousness of the stairs are fully justified; even by the usual standards of 4-story Cornish cottages, these are hazardous!

We are glad that you enjoyed the fantastic location there, though sorry to hear that you didn't find it particularly cosy. It is very much down to individual styles and preference, so some may not find the style and decor cosy, where others will love it. That said, upon inspection recently, there were some areas of paintwork that needed touching up, so the owner has been informed of this. Being a traditional fisherman's cottage in the middle of St Ives, the stairs are steep, but that is all part of the nature and charm of these places. The owners have installed handrails to assist, though it is always worth checking with the bookings team before booking anywhere, if there are any mobility concerns that may need to be considered when choosing a property. Lovely cottage, clean & well equipped. Close to the beach which is why we booked. Only down side are the steps inside are rather steep… after 2 weeks I have fabulously toned legs but might not be suited for older people or those with mobility issues.

Gorgeous and characterful property in a fantastic Downalong location . Very comfortable and well equipped. We absolutely loved our stay in this little cottage. The beds and lounge were really comfy and a good powerful shower. Beaches literally seconds from the front door. We loved it. The only thing to be aware of is the steep and narrow stairs between each floor . Def don’t pack massive cases!! This was no problem for us but poss worth mentioning .

Completely loved our time spent at St Eia. Perfect location for a family holiday, enabling us to make the most of all St Ives has to offer. Definitely a home from home with great facilities. Spotlessly clean and really quaint and quirky. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering!

No able to provide a positive statement

We are sorry to hear this and I can see that a member of the team has been in touch since. Just to let you know, we have since heard from the property owners, who have informed us that they are replacing some of the cupboards in the kitchen, painting areas of the property, replacing the electric fire in the lounge, and attending to several more minor bits of maintenance/wear that has occurred to the property over the very busy season. Thank you for getting in touch with us following your stay here. Tanya, Customer Services

We had a lovely stay at 2 St Eia street, it’s in fantastic location and is a beautiful house. It had everything we needed and plenty of space, will definitely be coming back!

Fantastic and quiet location, the cottage provides everything you need for a great holiday. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday wouldn't hesitate to book this cottage again.

Mr & Mrs Thorpe

Loved this house and we'd stay in it again. The stairs were safe and manageable compared to other properties we've stayed in - though with four floors (and one room per floor), you do get a lot of exercise, especially when playing that old game: 'now where did I leave my phone?'

Great house It offers a fantastic location and offers everything you need for a perfect relaxing break whilst you're holidaying in St Ives . Can't wait to come back !

Great location and very comfortable property. Bathroom needed updating, black mould on sealant. Clock not working in kitchen and placemats we’re stained. Requires a little TLC, but overall we had a very good time here.

Thank you for your feedback. We were sorry to hear this. We have asked the housekeeper to attend to the sealant, replace the clock batteries and have passed on your feedback to the property owners. We aim to offer a wide range of properties that we hope will meet the different budgets, differing requirements and individual tastes. Whilst this property is not marketed as one of our higher end/modern properties, the owners usually keep it well maintained. With your comments passed on to the owners, they can consider any suggestions for future improvements, and we will of course continue to monitor any further feedback. Thanks for taking the time to send in your comments. Tanya, Customer Services

We liked our stay at this cottage, we would use again, well equipped clean and cosy Tv was good also better than ours at home !

We had a wonderful stay. Great location and lovely cottage!

2 Eia Street was everything you need from holiday accommodation comfortable, clean, convenient to shops, harbour & beaches. We were a party of three with varying disabilities in our early to late seventies and all found the three flights of stairs manageable. We would definitely stay here again.

Really nice property. Exactly as you would expect from the pictures.

Lovely location and a property we would return to.

Fabulous property, well worth the money in a fab location

Lovely house in a great location, very convenient for beaches, shops, the coast path and art galleries too.

Another lovely holiday in St Ives... The property was exactly as described and just perfect for us....thank you!

We stayed there over Christmas and it was wonderful. Cosy and warm and we were surprised to find a Christmas tree up when we arrived and the kitchen well equipped so no problems cooking a full roast turkey dinner. On Christmas Eve the Cornish Carol singers sang outside the cottage - it really was a lovely place to spend Christmas. The stairs are numerous and quite steep - but were a good excuse for an extra spoonful of brandy butter!

Lovely central St Ives cottage within two minutes walk of beaches and ideal for families. Lots of stairs and cluttered decoration but lovely all the same and we would be happy to stay there again.

Lovely little cottage very close to Porthgwidden beach - perfect for sunny days but in easy reach of the rest of the town.

Excellent quite location idea position for all beaches and the town

It has all that you might need. The proximity to the beach (for those who want it) is excellent.

It's but a short walk to town with everything you could want. Great pubs and restaurants.

The internal stairs are a bit steep (unavoidably) but my 82 year old mother-in-law has coped well for two years here.

I recommend it to you.

We felt right at home a soon as we arrived. Lovely location.

A delightful well equipt cottage in a fabulous location.
