A lovely family accommodation with a stunning view of marazion and the mount

Compass Rose has a great location and fabulous views. Based on this we booked it. We have a small car so the hairpin driveway wasn't a problem, and to have parking in Marazion is a great bonus. It was lovely being able to stroll down the quiet lane to the hustle and bustle of the main street. The property is in two halves. Downstairs is contemporary with comfortable sofas and modern equipment. Upstairs is a trip to the dark ages; a slight exaggeration, more like the 1970s. Furniture that wasn't great 50 years ago doesn't improve with age. For the summer months, families, who will be out most of the time, will probably continue to tolerate this. If the owner wants to improve their lower season bookings - there were only 2 bookings for May 2023 - then they need to update the upstairs accommodation. Would we stay there again? Not unless there is work to improve upstairs and the bathroom.

The house is in a great location with fabulous views over Mounts Bay. The downstairs is spacious, and well equipped, but upstairs - whilst adequately comfortable - needs modernising.

A lovely spacious living area with fantastic views. Well placed to explore the Lizard and the Penwith peninsula. Not suitable for infirm people as there are steep steps and lane leading to the property. Driving up to the property requires caution as the lane is very narrow and there is a very tight bend on a steep hill. Not suitable for larger cars. Fine for a small car.

The hiouse is basic but the view of St Michaels Mount and the sea is superb.

We had a great time staying at Compass Rose and we would definitely stay there again. The welcome pack including the cream scones was a nice touch. The views from the property were amazing. Everything that we could possibly have needed was in the property. The only negative was the upstairs was a little dated but it would not stop us from staying there again.

Lovely view value for money

Stayed here for the views and they did not disappoint. Most mornings I would pull up a chair to the window and enjoy the view with my morning coffee. Kitchen has everything you need. Bedrooms have loads of wardrobes/ drawers. Handy playroom for the kids. I used it as a quiet reading room when my husband was watching TV in the other room. As other reviews have said upstairs is a bit old fashioned but who cares you only sleep in those rooms. Cleanliness was excellent. If you forget to bring something with you no worries as this house has everything you will need.
Two negatives , would have liked a full length mirror , but that's just me. There are plenty of wall mirrors. The road to get to this property is so narrow especially for a large car. But we managed it for a week and it didn't spoil the holiday.
I would love to go back sometime and stay at this property.

Superb views. We had a brilliant time!

Compass Rose is ideal for couples or families with children. The playroom is a very useful for either. The view of the Mount is enchanting and seen from most windows. All the amenities in the village are good and easily accessible from the property. We will definitely be returning.

A lovely time was had at Compass Rose, it was stormy while here but it was great to watch through the large windows, the lovely welcome pack was appreciated after a long journey. Lovely coastal walks and attractions are all close by no need to travel too far to reach these!

Compass Rose is a stunning place to stay with sea views from the most important rooms (living room, sitting room & master bedroom) and view on Saint Michael mount. We also really enjoyed cooking meals in a well equipped kitchen. We really enjoyed our stay.

We had a lovely couple of days at Compass Rose, the view from the lounge and front bedrooms is amazing. The house was very clean and comfortable, we enjoyed walking down to the village and the beach, but the walk back up is pretty steep!

Fantastic location and views , downstairs modern, clean and all appliances you could need also bonus of a playroom for kids . Upstairs is very dated especially bathroom , storage and blow heaters only also but as we spent most time downstairs or out walking this would not stop us staying here again at all we had a brilliant holiday.

Bathroom looks like a mid 80s original, as do the bedrooms, but the beds look newish and the main bedroom is passably comfortable.

Tired, dark fittings in kitchen, dim and not great to cook in - it was clean but everything felt well worn. New-ish cooker and washing machine, but the brown tumble dryer looked old.

Good sized but loud fridge/ freezer. Garden reasonably tidy if a little bit rustic.

The house has fantastic views of the bay from the dining room, the living room, and the main bedroom.

The living room is large, warm and comfortable, with up to date furnishings, and a decent TV/ freesat and good wifi.

Was a bit disappointed with the way recycling worked due to the council system and facilities at accommodation, but plenty of recycling options at Morrisons down the road to Penzance.

We've not been to Cornwall for a long time but really enjoyed our holiday. The house is in a wonderful part of Cornwall and Marazion is a lovely place to stay (The Cutty Sark, The fish and chip shop and The Rock cafe in town, all good for food). We enjoyed watching the day-trippers going to mount, fill the car parks. We suggest you visit all the 'local' attractions(St Ives, Minack theatre, Lands End and plenty more) as the A38 and A30 can be nightmare. This time we came in the school holiday period and I found it very busy. (In some of the places SO many people) and that spoilt it a little. The weather wasn't the best and we didn't have the beach day we were hoping for. (The beaches are class in Cornwall The house was spotless and the welcome package was a nice touch.

We enjoyed our holiday and didn't want to come home

wonderful house with a perfect view of the sea and St Michaels Mount. Well equiped with everything you need. Very good and friendly contact with the Agency. We would return everytime.

Compass Rose is a very cosy but spacious holiday cottage with breathtaking views across Mounts Bay from the Dining room, lounge and front bedrooms. The property is especially good for parents with children with the lounge layout excellent. The heating system in the property is very efficient even in colder weather, there is also plenty of hot water available day and night. We have been three years in succession and would highly recommend this property.

The cottage is in an ideal location for exploring the south coast. It is situated so as to give wonderful views of the bay with all its ‘quiet’ water sports. It is a comfortable,relaxed place to spend either one or two weeks holiday.

A very Cosy Cottage with unsurpassed views of Mounts Bay, the lay out lends itself to parties of mixed ages, ours was 4 - 72 years, this was our second visit and a wonderful time was had by all.

We spent a wonderful week in Cornwall which was enhanced by the cottage to which we returned each afternoon as if to ones own home. There are good places to eat within walking distance and so much to do in the area. All within a short drive. We will hope to return soon.

Great location with fabulous views.

This is a value for money, excellent, cosy, warm, well appointed cottage with excellent panoramic views over Mounts bay and surrounding countryside. The full height windows in the lounge, Dining room and front bedrooms give uninterrupted views whether waking up, dining or Lounging. The layout of the cottage is ideal for any family with plenty of space, and ideal furnishings even for little children, (we had one aged 5 the other 3), they absolutely loved it. The ouside patio area is also lovely, with plenty of little wild birds and a great view of St Michaels Mount. The neighbours were most friendly and helpful making our stay even better. We hope to return soon.

Excellent view of St Michaels Mount. Easy walk into Marazion. Very useful local general store. Service received from Aspects in terms of administration excellent.

Watching the sunset over the entire bay from the patio was amazing.

For our grandchildren Compass Rose was like living in a fairy tale with the views across to the magical St Michael's Mount.
