Seahorses Hayle
Hayle
Gwithian Towans, Hayle Towans and Godrevy offer three miles of golden sands and the most dramatic coastline stretching across to St Ives Bay. This impressive stretch of sand is immensely popular with sand yachts and kite buggies as well as being a real hot spot for surfers of all abilities; feel safe swimming with professional lifeguard cover from May to September. At low tide, with such a vast amount of sand, there is plenty of room for everyone – even horses getting their daily exercise. There are large areas of rock pools and intriguing caves which are great for kids to explore.
The Towans
Be awe-inspired by Godrevy Lighthouse sat majestically on an island at the far end of the beach where you will often spot curious seals people watching. The Towans is an ideal holiday location for all ages and is a great spot for dog-walking, water and beach sports and you will often find rock climbers practising their moves on the large boulders near Godrevy. Gwithian is a Conservation Village close to National Trust areas where you will find a friendly local pub, three cafés offering delicious refreshments and a surf academy.
Hayle Town
In Hayle town you will find a range of shops and bars, a convenience store, charming local pubs and a ‘famous’ ice-cream parlour. The King George V Memorial Walk can be found in the centre of Hayle and is a lovely, level walk, planted with a wonderful selection of unique trees which creates a leafy canopy around the edge of Copperhouse Pool, a large tidal water now a site of special scientific interest. Being just a short drive to harbour and beach towns of St Ives, Penzance, Mousehole, Porthleven and Marazion, a self-catering holiday in Hayle promises a holiday to remember.
