Hawkes Point
You can watch the world sail by and spot dolphins and other sea-life regularly visiting the bay to play. For the more energetic, West Cornwall Golf club is just a few minutes away which simply has to be one of the most scenic 18 hole courses in the country. Hawkes Point is also a local surfing spot, less well known than the nearby Porthmeor Beach in St Ives or Gwithian sands at Hayle. If you fancy a total break from the hectic day to day grind, what could be better?
Properties in this area can generally be accessed by car but for those who enjoy walking, the area is adjacent to the coastal pathway which leads either towards Hayle estuary or into St Ives itself and the beautiful Porthminster beach and its famous beach café. As if from a by-gone age, the coastal train runs from St Erth to St Ives and back again taking in all the bays in-between.
Whats on offer
Hidden from view, just around the headland, St Ives is just a couple of miles away with its galleries and superb eateries to enjoy. However Hawkes Point offers a feeling of true escapism and feeling of calm. It’s easy to imagine you are on your own desert Island at Porthkidney beach which, subject to tide times ,can be accessed from the coastal pathway. You will want to return to this idyllic and unique location again and again.
