Fabulous location and spectacular and dramatic views out to the sea. Great location to explore this part of Cornwall with coastal path right on your door step and I recommend the walk to Sennen however we took the bus back to St Just which is approximately a 20 minute walk to the Barn. Also the added bonus of the property being located on a 18 hole golf course with visitors very welcomed to play golf which my son enjoyed or just pop in to relax at the bar with a drink and have something to eat, even dogs (under control) are allowed on the golf course and in the bar. The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, the beds are super comfy. One parking space is reserved however if you have a large vehicle and the spaces either side are occupied then I suspect getting in and out will be very tight.

Fabulous flat, loved the view, very comfortable beds and sofas, (important if you have a bad back!) Well equiped, booked again for next year!

Holidays in Cape Cornwall

Located a stone's throw from St Just, Cape Cornwall is one of only two 'capes' in Britain, the other being Cape Wrath in Scotland. Situated on the South West Coast Path, with walks towards St Ives and Land's End, a climb up the cape headlands to the mining stack reveals breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Dogs are welcome all year round at Cape Cornwall, and an array of outdoor pursuits including clifftop walking, cycling, swimming and golfing, make it perfect for those looking to enjoy the great outdoors. Self catering holidays in Cape Cornwall are ideal for those looking to relax in a secluded area of West Cornwall.

Did you know...

Cape Cornwall was once believed to be the most westerly point in Cornwall.

A brief history about Cape Cornwall

Cape Cornwall is the only Cape so called in England. Up until the 18th century, it was thought that Cape Cornwall was the most westerly point in Britain, until accurate surveying found Land's End to be slightly further West. Cape Cornwall was bought by H.J.Heinz and given to the National Trust in 1987. You will find the ruins of St. Helen’s Oratory here along with a National Trust Car Park and National Coastwatch lookout. Like the lighthouse, Coastwatch plays a vital role in the safety of shipping. Read about the history of the area on our blog: West Penwith - Through the ages.

Things to do at Cape Cornwall

Priest Cove
The popular rocky beach at Priest Cove has a small, man-made tidal pool, which makes a safe place for children to swim and the dog friendly beach makes it an ideal place for a family day out. Priest Cove looks out towards the Brisons, where an annual swim from Brisons into Priest Cove takes place. The Brisons rock formation, just off the beach is said to resemble Charles De Gaulle in the bath!

Cape Cornwall Golf Course
A par 69 challenge on a natural course ranging across farmland and cliffs with a mix of challenging holes.
Read more on our blog post about Golf Courses in West Cornwall.

Ride the Open-Top Bus
If you want to give your feet and legs a rest, you can hop on the No 300 Bus, known as the open-top. The double decker trundles through high-hedged Cornish roads. It goes on a circular route around West Penwith. It's easy to hop on and to hop off. Don't forget that sunscreen!

Stunning location with views over Cape Cornwall. Property is in a great location for travelling around this part of Cornwall. We stayed in December but I would not recommend staying here in the colder months as the property does not get that warm. You cannot have a bath as there is not enough storage water. Showers work perfectly well though. There’s also a great restaurant you can walk to from the property at the golf club which is great if you’d like a drink or two.

Thank you for your review. It's great that you enjoyed exploring Cape Cornwall - the views are really something else aren't they! We appreciate you getting in touch at the time to make us aware that you were having issues with the hot water and heating, but we are sorry to hear that the instructions we sent across didn't solve this for you. We would have been more than happy to look into this further had we been aware. We hope you were still able to enjoy your time away exploring the lovely local restaurants and surrounding areas, and that we can welcome you back for another stay soon. Phoebe, Customer Services

Fabulous flat, loved the view, very comfortable beds and sofas, (important if you have a bad back!) Well equiped, booked again for next year!

Really enjoyed our stay, apartment very well equipped with excellent instructions. Location excellent. St.Just lovely local town. We’ve rebooked for next year.

Our first visit to Nanpean Barn, in an area we know well. Location is superb, right on the coast path for stunning coastal walks. The apartment was clean, comfortable, quiet and well equipped. But the most amazing feature is the view from the living room window. It actually looks as if you are watching the TV - but with much better programmes! The view is constantly changing, as the weather and time of day changes. Definitely the selling point for this property. Highly recommend.

A well appointed apartment with a fantastic view over Cape Cornwall right on the South West Coast path and with handy bus links through St Just.

Ocean View was very comfortable and had everything that we needed. It is in a peaceful location with beautiful views. We had a wonderful holiday.

A good size clean apartment with fantastic views and facilities for wet weather. Handy for the SWC path, golf and St. Just is a great centre for far west Cornwall with shops restaurants and an excellent bus service. Second visit and third already booked.

A very comfortable, quiet apartment with amazing views, especially the sunsets. We were extremely fortunate to have good weather for the end of March and managed lots of walks, although the Southwest coast path can be rather challenging in places! The scenery is this part of Cornwall is absolutely stunning and we definitely want to return. We would happily stay here again.

We have stayed at Ocean View many time's now (our third visit this year) and it never disappoints. A fantastic location just off the costal footpath and spectacular views over Cape Cornwall towards the Isles of Scilly. Aspect Holidays are such a professional company to deal with.

This is a lovely flat is a great setting with swimming and coastal walks a few minutes from the door and the Cape Cornwall Club 2 minutes away for drinks. There are stunning views from the living room window and it was very cosy when it was windy and lashing with rain!

5th visit to this property and is still a great place to stay.

A beautifully presented and spotlessly clean apartment with fantastic views of Cape Cornwall and the Brisons offshore rocks.

We have stayed at Ocean View many time's now and it never disappoints. Its amazing place to explore this beautiful part of Cornwall. The apartment is so well appointed and I find Aspect Holidays are a truly professional company to deal with. Roll on September when we're back again.

Another great stay at this property. Stunning views and thankfully weather came out to play.

Clean and comfortable apartment, whose owners have thought about everything they can provide to help guests relax and enjoy their holidays. Tempur mattresses, comfy sofas, clear instructions on heating, lanterns and torches just in case they are needed. Best of all is the wonderful view, and the sunsets. The Scilly Isles were clearly visible most days. Don’t forget to pop down to both coves to watch for seals. We had a wonderful time.

The most comfortable apartment you could wish for with everything you require. Spotlessly clean etc. With the most amazing views over the magnificent Cape Cornwall with views of some fantastic sunsets. With regards to Aspect Holidays just brilliant to deal with. Well done guys.

We had an amazing stay here. The view is amazing and you can spend plenty of time looking out to Cape Cornwall. It’s a very peaceful and relaxing place. It’s ideally located for walks along the south west coastal path and nearby beaches like Sennen Cove.

We will definitely be back next year

Marc

This was our 4th time at Nanpean barn. We adore this place, and we had the most amazing holiday yet again. We cannot recommend it enough. Of course the best thing about this place is the stunning view! All booked for next year!

The view is lovely, ansd the flat is comfortable and warm. The postioning for walks and generally exploring the Penwith peninsula is excellent and St Just is a lovely village. There are useful bus services so car use can be minimilaised. There is however a persistent but gentle uphill one-mile walk into St Just. If your car has a poor steering lock, the car parking is tight, but probably fine for most cars.

It is great to hear that you enjoyed that lovely view from Ocean View, Nanpean and the property was a comfortable, warm place to spend your holiday. The local bus service is certainly a great way of getting around if you did not fancy that uphill stroll into St Just. It really is a lovely part of Cornwall to explore so we are glad that you liked it and we hope to see you again soon. Lucy, Customer Services

The apartment provides an excellent standard of accommodation in a beautiful, rugged part of the world. I wanted ocean views from this holiday and I wasn't disappointed. Sitting in the lounge window seat looking over Cape Cornwall with the Atlantic rolling in is a joy.

An excellent property. Well equipped. Clean and comfortable with an amazing view in an amazing location. Highly recommended

Very comfortable and well equipped upstairs apartment overlooking the sea with great views with access to coast path. Quiet area but near to St Just with plenty of shops pubs and cafes.

This is our third visit to Ocean view and never disappoints. Very beautifully appointed and in a stunning location for some lovely coastal walks. Booking through Aspect holidays couldn't have been easier.True professional company.

We had a wonderful, relaxed 2 weeks at Nanpean barn. The apartment was well equipped with everything we needed, and was so peaceful with a view out of this world. This was our 3rd time here, and we have already booked for next year.

We had an absolutely AMAZING week here during school half-term with our 8 year old son. The apartment is very well furnished with exceptional facilities. Kitchen was well equiped and the dishwasher was a welcomed escape from our daily grind of having washing up back home. Beds were super comfy and the linen and towels were of very good quality. We never heard any of the neighbours to the side or below us. Never have we slept so well. Lovely part of West Cornwall to get away from it all. Easy to venture elsewhere if you get a bit of cabin fever (Penzance 7 miles, St Ives a 30min+ stunnning coastal drive, Porthcurno Beach 10-15 min drive.) The local village of St Just is quaint and a 15-20 min walk. We ventured down to Priests Cove and our son loved paddling in the tidal pool and sea with his wetsuit on. I spent time doing some sketching and painting by the chapel ruin you can see from teh lounge window. The added extra of a communal locked annexe by the parking area was very welcomed, it has washing machines x 2, tumble dryer x 1 costs 50p per 30 mins, area to hang/dry clothes and wetsuits and various equipment available to borrow (books, games, body boards, nets, surf board, buckets and spades etc.) We were very disappointed to leave this lovely apartment, and plan to visit again next year for longer than 1 week.

Wonderful setting, overlooking the Atlantic and Cape Cornwall. There is a window to gaze out of to meditate on these, very peaceful. Coastal path just two minutes away, you don't have to get in your car as so many walks just at hand. Apartment on second floorof two storey building and is very nicely decorated with lots of lovely paintings.

A well equipped and decorated apartment in a stunning location. The nearby town of St Just is friendly with most things you would need. We particularly enjoyed eating at the Wellington hotel and King’s Arms pub. Loads of amazing walks on the doorstep and if you like golf it is the perfect place to be

Well to be honest I was a little dubious about this property when we booked it as we always stop in Cove Cottage a little nearer the Cape,in fact we are there again next month. We've never stopped in a apartment as we prefer a cottage and I was a little concerned if we would experience a lot of noise from other visitors in the adjoining apartments. But to be honest it's all credit to the owners on how beautiful this apartment is,so beautifully decorated and lovely fixtures and fittings, was truly a wonderful holiday which I would like you to pass on to the owners. Plus also we didn't hear a sound from the adjoining residents and to be honest we're that impressed with this apartment we've already booked it again for next April. I would also just like to say again how impressed we are with Aspect holidays,so helpful a truly professional company. Thanks you.

This little apartment is just perfect and the view is out of this world. What a lovely place to be.

Ocean View, 9 Nanpean Barn, is a perfectly equipped apartment for a wonderful, relaxing stay at Cape Cornwall. The views from the lounge and the kitchen across to Cape Cornwall are outstanding, a view you will never tire off. The Cornish cream tea on arrival, just adds to that final touch of perfection, why stay anywhere else!

Ocean view is a great place in variable weather.

The paintings and prints are very enjoyable. All the iconic west penwith coastal scenes.

The only downside is the long staircase. But I used the laundry room to store items like boots .

An excellent bolt hole to have your own personal space with great views and nice walks. In winter it is very quiet and gives you time to contemplate the sea and scenery.

We've now stayed at Ocean View four times, and that speaks for itself.

Perfect in every way

Our first time at Nanpean barn and what a beautiful location and absolutely amazing view! The apartment was fully equipped with everything we needed, and the beeches nearby were stunning. We came home feeling completely relaxed and have already booked for next year.

The flat was big, clean and very well equipped. The beds were good. It was very quiet and we had the chance to recover well. Thanks for your help

We had a wonderful stay at Ocean view, Nanpean barn. The accommodation exceeded our expectations. The view from the barn was spectacular . The barn was well equipped with everything you need .

We really had a fabulous holiday at Ocean View, Nanpean Barn. The positioning of the accommodation is spectacular with the apartment being equipped to a very high standard. We would love to return again one day.

Fantastic property for the coastal path and west cornwall mining areas.

This was our second visit to Nanpean Barns and probably won't be our last. The location was perfect, with stunning views of the Cape. It was extremely relaxing, a perfect way to unwind and recharge.

Quality of this kind is rarely seen in the modern day.

Excellent time at Cape view.We have stayed at Nanpean Barn 3 times and will back again soon.Wonderful location and comfortable accommodation.

A beautiful apartment in a great location for exploring the far west of cornwall. The most fantastic view! Right next door to the friendly clubhouse for good food, drinks and cake! A flat 15 min walk to St Just which had everything we needed. Couldn't fault our short break at all.

The stay at Ocean View was magical for us.
