Holidays in Bude

Carrying the title of Cornwall’s northern-most coastal town, Bude is perfectly placed to enjoy some of the north coast’s beautiful beaches and coastal walks.

Bude has so much to offer when it comes to things to do, including a fabulous town with a wide selection of independent shops, cafés, and restaurants – not to mention the wildest live music venue in Cornwall. In addition, visitors can meander along Bude Canal, stretch out on one of the many beaches, or enjoy a gentle cruise in a pedal boat or kayak, observing the beautiful area from a different angle. The town is home to the historic Bude Sea Pool and The Castle Bude, both a must if you are in the area.

For those who enjoy walking, the South West Coast Path can be easily accessed from Bude. You’ll be blown away by the stunning scenery and breathtaking views along the coastline – it’s also a great dog-friendly day out!

With so much on the doorstep, it’s the perfect destination for a holiday by the sea!

Top tip

Take a dip in the historic Bude Sea Pool at Summerleaze Beach!

Beaches in Bude

Each with its own character and charm, the beaches in Bude are great whether you’re a swimmer, surfer or sand-snoozer.

Summerleaze Beach – Boasting the iconic sea pool, and only a five-minute walk from the centre of Bude, Summerleaze Beach is Bude’s central hub of sand, surf, and sun. Clean, safe, and easy on the eye, Summerleaze Beach is a big hit with surfers, sun-bathers, and families. However, it’s the sheer variety of activities that mark Summerleaze as arguably one of the best beaches in Cornwall for outdoor pursuits and watersports so definitely swing by if you love a hands-on holiday.

Crooklets Beach – At low tide, you’ll find a huge expanse of golden sand along with lots of rockpools to explore, making it very popular with families. There’s also decent surf and lots of amenities nearby including a beach café for those all-important ice creams and even a skate park.

Widemouth Bay Beach – Stretching across one and a half miles of golden sands, Widemouth Bay is divided into two halves, the North beach and the South beach, separated by a natural barrier of rock known as Black Rock. As the tide retreats, amazing rock formations are exposed - perfect for rockpooling and getting back to nature!

Northcott Mouth Beach – Three miles North of Bude is the small rocky beach Northcott Mouth, which is owned by the National Trust. As the tide drops, the beach opens up to expansive sand with rockpools dotted all around - perfect for exploring with the dog all year round.

We had a lovely week at Largo which is very well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and immaculately clean. It’s a very quiet and peaceful location and you can be on the beach or the cliff path within a couple of minutes. Beautiful sunsets from the front garden!

Amazing house amazing location. Everything you could wish for. Well equipped everything you would require was at hand . 12 out of 10 fantastic

We had a fantastic stay at Largo, when booking we were a little concerned about no photos of the bathroom but when we arrived there was no need for concern, it has a great walk in shower. Kitchen was well equipped. The house was comfortable with the added bonus of a fantastic view of the sea and beach within a few minutes walk. Aspects booking staff were very helpful with questions before booking and prior to arrival. We would definitely recommend the property and Aspects to friends.

The location is just fabulous, just a few minutes to the beach. Fabulous bathroom and kitchen extremely well equipped. Comfortable house to be in, lots of fantastic cafes in walking distance and Bude about 5 mins by car. Great surf school at Widemouth Bay and stunning views of the Atlantic from the front garden.

Largo is great for a family holiday near to the beach, it's such a great location, you are so close to the shore you can hear the sea when you go to sleep at night. The property is very comfortable and equipped with everything you need. The Aspects team are really fantastic and we would definitely book with them again.

Lovely location if wanting a quiet place to stay. Comfortable accommodation and very clean.

Largo was a truly wonderful place to stay. There were so many personal touches that made it extra special, from the welcome flowers and wine, as well as the books to borrow and beach equipment we were allowed to use. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to family and friends.

This is a great house in a wonderful location which was really just as good as I’d imagined. Spotlessly clean and a fantastic base for our holiday. I hope we will return!

When we booked there were no reviews and I was really curious about two things. There was no photo of the bathroom so I was afraid it might be scary - but it isn’t! It’s lovely and modern with a large shower - great!

The second thing was that there were no photos of the back garden. It’s a fairly large lawned garden but no “view” and no patio or furniture. There is a gas tank and so I think the reason for no photo but it’s a nice space. We actually sat in the front garden so we had the lovely sea view that you see in the photos. There was also a wooden table and benches set up down the side of the house on concrete that you can use for eating outside.

Clean, well equipped property in excellent location
