The du Maurier Festival | May 2012

The du Maurier Festival celebrates the life and works of the renowned author, Daphne Du Maurier. Held in the pretty town of Fowey and running for just under 2 weeks from the 9th – 20th May, the festival boasts some of the most renowned literary figures, public speakers and performers.

Situated just down the coast from Polperro and Looe, Fowey is a charming town sat at the mouth of the River Fowey. With a fantastic range of activities on offer, Fowey is a great location to explore in-between your time at the festival.

Most of the events that take place over the course of the festival will need to be pre-booked, and popular names such as Sir Trevor MacDonald, Esther Rantzen, Fern Britton, Sir Terry Wogan and Book Club stars, Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan get booked up fast!

As well as talks, readings and interviews there are also guided walks, river tours and theatre performances. There are a great transport links to the festival with a minibus service from the main car park, bus services between St Austell and Fowey and ferry services between Fowey to Polruan and Fowey to Bodinnick.
