Eden Project
Boasting status as the largest indoor rainforest in the world, the iconic Eden Project is prime kiddie stomping ground. Giant biomes, exotic gardens, art installations, walking trails and mini activity centres perfectly lend themselves to young knowledge- and adventure-thirsty minds.
Roskilly’s
Tuck into a sundae and meet the animals at The Lizard’s famous working organic farm. Producers of some of the best ice cream (fudge, jams, chutneys…) churned out of the county, Roskilly’s is renowned for producing top notch edibles while entertaining its visitors with the likes of fantastic farm trails, original arts and crafts at The Bull Pen Gallery, its resident sheep, goats, pigs, calves and chickens, and of course, their lip smacking star attraction, The Ice Cream Parlour. National Maritime Museum
Located on Falmouth’s fittingly named Discovery Quay, the Maritime Museum will thrill all with its ever-changing assortment of nautical-inspired exhibitions, displays and interactive features. Sail a radio-controlled boat at the Waterfront, watch the harbour underwater at the Tidal Zone and learn fascinating facts about weather at the Nav Station.
Flambards
Bursting at the seams with rides, exhibitions and fabulously fun features – Flambards, near Helston, is a spectacular and award-winning family attraction. From the Exploratorium to Gus Honeybun’s Burrow, there’s a selection of spaces to suit all young ones along with both gentle and more high-octane style rides including the Animal Express, Space Shuttle, Cornwall Eye, Skyraker and Thunderbolt. Then there’s the Victorian Village, Britain in the Blitz and the Aviation Experience all set to transport visitors back in time as they discover past lives through authentically replicated exhibitions.
Wheal Martyn Museum and Country Park
The UK’s sole china clay museum, delve into Cornwall’s mining heritage courtesy of its interactive visitor centre, preserved clay works, working water wheel, and picturesque woodland walks all set in 26 glorious acres of country park. Kids will adore the woodland play area and adventure course, while exciting activity days are also staged throughout the course of the year.
St Michael’s Mount
Teetering on the edge of the cliff at the country’s far western tip, Land’s End not only stakes its position amongst truly scenic natural surrounds, but is home to a bevy of brilliant things to see and do – including the farm park, 4D cinema show, free family exhibition, Land’s End Heritage Trail, shopping village, and Atlantic-gazing bar and restaurant.
