ST IVES ... there really is nowhere quite like it!
Wonderful beaches surrounded by sea on all sides. Magical street names such as Teetotal Street, Salubrious Terrace, Virgin Street and Court Cocking all evoke memories of times gone by and lead to the bustling picturesque harbour.
You can sit outside in one of the many harbourside restaurants and watch the world go by, hopefully leaving work and everyday problems behind. If a little exercise is on the cards, then you can walk as far as you feel able along the coastline, enjoying the magnificent views, just taking in the quietness and the atmosphere. Or you can play golf at the West Cornwall Golf Club, which enjoys the most incredible sea views.
St Ives has a variety of things to do. You can visit any number of art gallaries including the prestigious Tate of the West. The Barbara Hepworth Museum showcases some inspiring scupltures as well as her other work. Take a boat trip and enjoy the views from a different angle, if you're lucky you may see one of 'resident' seals or view the dolphins at play. If you're up for it why not try and body board. With the sea surrounding you there is nearly always one beach you can surf from, you really don't have to be super fit to enjoy the first stages of surfing.
If you want to enjoy the scenery to be viewed from our coastal paths but don't want to do the walk yourself, you can take the costal train to St Erth. You can connect there to go to Penzance or Truro or even further afield or just hop back on to sample those magnificent views again.
There's always something to do if you take the time to look and enjoy, we do, that's why we are very proud and happy to enjoy and be part of St. Ives.
